One of the best ways to help control college costs is through scholarships and grants. While most scholarships have deadlines that fall between February and May, there are others that you can apply for year round. For example, if you are going to Kennebec Valley Community College, it is encouraged that you apply for their Foundation Scholarship prior to August 15. Not sure what scholarships are available to you? There are a lot of search engines out there, and it can be hard to figure out which are the best. One site that you can trust is the Finance Authority of Maine Website. Their Maine Scholarship search engine is a fast and easy way to find scholarships that may fit for you.
